Put scratching posts at all 4 corners. And use a water gun. And clip her nails. Cats are not stupid. If they know they can get away with something they will no matter what the age. Just because she's 14 is no excuse for allowing bad behavior.
I put clear contact paper on new sofa on corners where cat liked to scratch. It broker her of the habit. I used quilting pins to hold in place.
PS I cut my cats nails with nail clippers. Declawing would be like cutting off the tips of your fingers, very painful and leads to all kinds of complications for cats.
