I want to replace the floor in my 76 Airstream Argosy with a laminate.

Should I use glue down or floating? Any brand that is recommended? Thanks!

what ever your choice is....check with a a rv dealer for the specs on total wt restrictions. there is a dry wt-camper w/o any added gear and the how much you can pack into it weight for a max total. personally i would go with a floating floor just due to the amount of movement the floors can have.
Please do not use laminate, I beg you! The new vinyl products are oh so much better! And really easy to maintain too.
I'd be concerned that the floating would buckle because of the movement of the Airstream. You can always buy a floating and if it doesn't work, glue it down. I just wouldn't use the underlayment. Good luck.
we bought a motor home that had recently had laminate installed on the floor. It was glued down and it looks really nice.
I think I would do floating, so if you need to replace a board you could. When I did my kitchen floor, I got some newer laminate that has a sealer along the seams (for kitchens & baths) that prevents water getting into the floor and causing buckling. Its worked great so far. I got it at lumber liquidators.
Carol, I wouldn't use laminate either. You can't mop it with water. We spray a fiber pad with water and then mop with the pad. Any little bit of water in the joints will cause the laminate to bubble or swell. Wish we'd have put in the vinyl.
