CC on Mar 17, 2014Chalk paint can be watered down for a smoother appearance but really is intended to show brush strokes for an old world appearance. You could give the entire top a thorough sanding which will help smooth it out. Enamel paint is a better choice if you want a super smooth finish.Helpful Reply

Christine Olson on Mar 17, 2014@chas the best luck I've had w/ Chalk paint is i put it in a paint sprayer purchased for$20, then I mixed 1/4 c water to around 3 c paint. it looks more even then brush strokes.Helpful Reply
