Rules for GFCI Outlets and How to Install One

You’ve probably seen those outlets with the little buttons in bathrooms and kitchens. They’re called Ground Fault Circuit-Interrupters (GFCIs) and if you’re not noticing them in many rooms throughout a house, that house is not up to code. They are required in all bathrooms and in kitchen receptacles at counter height or within 6 feet of a wet area.
