What type of floor is it ?
You can try cleaning the floor with plain ammonia. If that does not remove the yellowing, it has probably yellowed from age and will not come off.

Would you consider covering the floors? There are some great options of peel and stick tile available. It's pretty easy to install and looks great.
The yellow, is probably old wax that has built up. f you want to try to save the floor, try spic and span cleaner, or sudsy ammonia. You may have to use a scrub brush. Do small areas at a time.
