First off, what Zone are you in? Does it freeze and have lots of snow? Here are a couple general links. I am in Southern California with mild temps and for me they grow like weeds and I give lots away when I make babies from the larger plants. Mine are outside year round.

I put mine outside in the summer and bring it when the temps start to drop. I only water when the leaves start to feel a bit softish. You will be able to tell the difference by firm leaves when it does not need water. As soon as mine starts to feel a bit soft I soak the whole pot for a few hours then let it drain well. It will depend on the humidity, temperature and how much light to how often you need to water.
