I have voles that are digging up my lawn, how do I get rid of them?
They are leaving dirt piles and holes all over my lawn. I have tried to drown them, but they are still here and digging.
That is what dogs do, it is instinct. Time to start training! I have 6 in my yard every day and they have all gently been taught not to dig. Dogs just want unconditional love and nothing more than to please you. It will take time and patience. Here are a few links to get you started, there are lots more out there too. Kept us posted. Is he a Terrier or working dog type? a Pup? Take him out more for walks and only allow him to dig in one area at a time by restricting access.
Outside toys - balls, throw toys, lots of them. They have large indestructible balls, that they push around. Place a board or rock over each area he has dug up. He cannot dig there again., Eventually he will stop. But the toys provide a distraction.
