Dee Edwards on Mar 20, 2014Removing the popcorn is better. Get some plastic cover to totally cover the floor. Also cover furnature if you can't move it. Get scrappers, large ones and get a hat and goggles. Start scraping. It was easy and fast for me.Helpful Reply

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Mar 20, 2014As Dee states, it is better to remove but it can be an awful mess. You could think about sheetrocking over it or using tiles. There are also ways to use 1/4" plywood to make your own tiles with paint or stain and even add molding to design. you cannot just mud over popcorn because it usually is sprayed on and it comes off with some ease. Hope this helps for ideas. Good luckHelpful Reply

Barbara R on Mar 21, 2014I kept mine and hired someone to come in and spray paint them. I like them, they have character and once painted, are there for the duration :)Helpful Reply

Betty Mckinney on Feb 10, 2015Keeping mine, I did repair mine. It depends on how bad they are. If it's in small spots . you can scrap a small area. And then use a spray can of the pop corn repair spray on it.. That works well. Sold at Lowes. Or rent a spray gun and hopper to take care of the larger project.Helpful Reply
