Hardware for an orange front door?
We've just ordered a 3/4 light, leaded-glass door to replace our current warped, cheapo, builder-grade mess. We are going to paint it a warm pumpkin-y orange =). Here's the question: the caming in the glass is only available in a nickel finish. We had originally envisioned bronze door hardware, but now I'm wondering if we should go with nickel hinges and door handle to work with the nickel caming.
What do you think?
Thanks,
Rachel

Z on Mar 20, 2014Personally, I think the bronze will still work as the caming blends with the glass tone and will disappear within it. I hope that makes sense.Helpful Reply

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Mar 20, 2014with your orange paint color, I would lean towards the nickel. the real test will be to hold it up to the paint color in the sunlight to see which one-bronze or nickel will look best (to you). I have a similar design for my front door with brass and realized after 2 handles that brass (even tho I am not a fan of brass) looks best with the leaded glass. I also think it will look more finished if everything matches too because your door will become a focal point. Good luckHelpful Reply
