Feather Pillow FAIL (and a Simple "no-sew" Fix)

I've had feather pillows before but have never encountered this problem before.....pokey feather leakage! I loved the pillows, hated the feathers. They were everywhere--and they hurt! So I decided to pull the feathers out and re-stuff them. Simple, inexpensive fix! Even if you don't know how to sew (I don't!) you can do this. No sewing required. Carefully open the seam, remove the feather insert, fill with poly-fil and use an iron on seam sealer to close back up! Voila..new pillow...and no more painful feathers poking out!

Lee on Feb 18, 2016This is why down is coveted,. Down will most likley not poke through. Look for high down content. Throw the feathers outside--cuz the birds will gather them for their nests. It may be the ticking should be a higher thread content...ticking can be purchased at your fabric store. Just insert original inside.

Lisa House on Jun 01, 2016Lee is correct...as the ticking thins from wear the feathers will poke through, just recover as she mentioned. When my bed pillows started to wear I just trimmed a pillowcase around the old pillow and stitched the end closed, easy-peasy
