. Hardy in zones 8 through 10, primrose jasmine is best pruned right after spring bloom since flowers appear on the previous year's growth. Cut older canes to ground level and newer growth to a strong outside bud, varying the lengths of pruned branches. Winter jasmine (J. nudiflorum) is one of the hardiest jasmines, growing from zones 6 through 10. This deciduous shrub blooms in midwinter. It reaches 3 feet wide by 7 feet tall. If pruning is needed to constrain the plant for size, cut off branches right after bloom is finished.
You do not have to cut it back but if you want to you can trim it anytime
right after they have finished blooming for the season
