Wash your blinds?

I read your suggestion to wash mini blinds in the sink or tub. Don't the cords absorb the dirty water? Seems like my friend tried that and the cords never looked clean again. Good idea though.

I hang my blinds over the tub to clean them. Spary them with a cleaner, use a soft brush (I use a nylon duster) to gently scrub them. Rinse with a hand held sprayer and let them drip dry.

When I do clients, I usually put some aluminum nails in outside like over the garage door or porch to support the top of the blind when I hang it on the nails and open it the full length and close the slats. Then I spray it with water, bleach and a cleaner in a hose attachment bottle. I use a soft car brush to scrub off the dirt, rinse and turn the blind around to do the other side. Let dry in place, and then pull up, lift off the nails and replace in the window.
