If the battery is truly "dead" there is no restoring it, only replacing it. If the battery is fairly new then you can charge it from another battery with jumper cables or you can put it on a slow charge with an electric battery charger. Best thing to do is to take the battery to an auto parts store like Auto Zone or O'Reillys and have them test thr battery for free. They will be able to tell you if it needs to be replaced or recharged. This is assuming you are talking about a car battery?

Years ago, a car battery could last 5 or 6 years but the newer batteries only last about 2 years, if you are lucky. There was a post on Google that talked about restoring and recharging batteries, but once I sat through 10 minutes of the video, I realized there was something to purchase and exited out of the video. Batteries can be expensive, about $150 or more ... I have AAA and sometimes they will have the battery you need on their vehicle when they come to help you, sometimes they will not. Regardless of when it happens, when you are stuck with a dead battery on a vehicle, it is at that moment that you will wish you had it tested and / or replaced.
