Take it to someone who works with electric trains and see if they think it can be salvaged.

id advise taking it to a professional just because liquid could destroy it even worse than the mold. If you really want to do it at home, I’d suggest finding some where really dry and let it sit so the mild will dry out and then vacuum it.
If you can take the outside off, take it off and let everything dry off separately, also you may be able to tell better where the mold is coming from. This will allow you to clean the cover of the engine without harming the inner works. Wash the outer cover with bleach to start getting rid of the mold spores and finish with a soak of vinegar to use the good antibacterial and antifungal properties it offers. You may need to take the inner workings to be cleaned to a place that deals in electric trains for that cleaning since it may have mold spores in it also. If nothing else, they may be able to tell you how to clean it yourself.
