I print one out on my computer and cut clear tape over it on top of the box.

tear off a piece fold it in half (sticky sides together) and write on it with a sharpie and use another piece of packaging tape to put label on whatever you want to put in on.

I usually just print out the address, stick it on the package, then slap a piece of packing tape over it, but it sounds like you want the whole label see-through?

If you put a clear piece of packing tape on your package, write the address on it in indelible ink (maybe a fine-tip Sharpie), then put another piece of clear packing tape over it, it would look like a see-through label.

You can print what you want on a piece of white paper then put the packing tape over the printed words/pics - sticking it smoothly over the item. Cut the size/shape you want the 'label' to be and soak the whole thing. After a bit you can rub off the paper backing and have a clear printed label. I can't remember if a toner ink printer works better than an ink jet or not. Test to see! Good luck!

I bring food to my mom each week so she just has to warm up the food and not have to cook whole meals (she is 97). Very few left overs get eaten at our house, so my mom gets them, or I just add extra when I am cooking for her. I put it in containers and label everything with tape with one edge doubled for easy removal and write on it with a permanent marker what each item is. TV dinner trays covered with wrap work well also. One way would be to cut another piece of tape slightly smaller than the main piece and put the sticky sides together and it will make a frame with a thin sticky area to stick it to whatever you are labeling. Another would be to have no sticky area on the top and you can slip a doubled piece of tape in with whatever you are storing written on that and you would be able to change the label each time you put something different in the container.

Print out what you want on the label. Put packing tape over it and cut it out. Put the tape in warm water for about a minute. Rub the paper off the back with your fingers under running water. Let dry then glue on.

TY Susan. I think I have to let the ink dry on the paper first. That could be what's wrong. It's smearing, when I peel the paper off.

I just put the label on the box and put clear packing tape over it.

The answer is a laser printer or A4 paper- don't have either - so with an inkjet the process will give you a good stencil. Place on jar and fill in with a permanent marker, like a sharpie. Solved.
