Cover them with fabric or wrapping paper using Mod Podge
sand, paint and use any decoration you like - ribbon, buttons, rope, etc., and you have 'storage' for most anything -- or drill holes for drainage and use for a small planter, if indoors, put the lid underneath w/ no holes .
Love them. I got to goodwill and get them for a dollar. I use them to store things in - sewing, crafts, medicine....I label the outside on the side with a permanent marker. So easy to stack and look good.
Metal Tins are the easiest objects to repurpose because they are functional, can be altered to look different with paint and are perfect for presenting homemade gifts and goodies.
A quick pass of spray paint on the tins and your cookies, fudge, peanut brittle, candy bark, hot cocoa mix or cupcakes are good to go as gifts. They can also be assembled as sewing kits, first aid kits, office supplies kit, to hold a cookie cutter collection, homemade potpourri or to present a gift of votive candles.
