If your cabinets are wood its fairly simple, if you just want to repaint. Lightly sand, apply a primer and paint with an enamel based, or cabinet, paint. Spraying is easiest for a smooth, even coat, but if you are careful and veyr low nap roller will give a good look.
Be sure you choose a cheerful color, for the kitchen. You do not want to use a dark, depressing color, but stay on the cheerful colors, with pretty colored curtains. This makes a world of difference. Best wishes, and have a good time. J.
what are the cabinets made of so the proper answer can be given
You can use a product called, Bin Zinser (its a primer), get water based and be sure to clean the cabinets really good before applying. I didn't sand my cabinets but if you want you can give it a light sanding. I would use an off white to super light beige. If by any chance you have an island I would paint that a green (or the color in the time not sure by the picture), for a contrast and something fun. I have off white cabinets and my island is robins egg blue and its beautiful. Good Luck :)
A pretty white shade always looks good, or a pale green or blue would look pretty.
By the way, I love your floor.
I painted my kitchen cabinets a medium gray color. My floor is similar to what you show. I see gray in your tiles so I know it would compliment the tiles. I LOVE the gray. My walls are white and I installed some shiplap as a backsplash and on a full wall. I LOVE my kitchen! I am even considering repainting the cabinets a little bit darker--more of a charcoal.

I have similar looking tiles on my'walls and counter tops' in my kitchen (I have no idea what they were thinking when they designed this kitchen) so I look forward to answers because I want to paint my cupboards also. I don't know whay colour to pick. The kitchen is hideous!
When you paint sand lightly with a fine grit paper on a palm sander to save your hands for the painting and I recommend painting with Behr self leveling paint with a foam roller.
I too use a 6" smooth foam roller when doing client's cabinets, and then drag a good badger brush over it lightly to remove any texture or excess paint. I would take the doors off, number them on the back of each, and make a chart of the cabinets and their numbers. I usually do this in the garage and let them dry for a few days before trying to rehang.
These are the rollers I use, https://www.amazon.com/Shur-Line-4950C-6-Inch-Roller-Refills/dp/B000DZGJDE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1510768123&sr=8-1&keywords=6"+mini+foam+rollers
I also use 3-4" mini foam rollers on the cabinet box edges.
These are great cause they also don't waste as much paint.
Try the kits that Rustoleum sell, you can get them at home depot for $75.00. Everything you need comes in the kit except a paint brush. They come in a lot of colors! I used the kit on my Brother and Sister-in-laws kitchen cabinets and they came out awsome.
SW Requisite Gray on the cabinets-ProClassic Smooth Enamel, SW Pure White on the walls. In my dining room-Polar Ice. Be careful picking out your grays. I am finding that this gray has a greige brown undertone rather than a black undertone. The Polar Ice has more of the gray color that I am looking for to repaint my cabinets a little darker--sometime in the next year! And if you use a primer have it tinted gray rather than white. It took 3 coats to go over the white primer. I am very happy with how the Sherwin Williams paint has held up. I love to chalk paint and have done LOTS but I don't think I would ever use it for kitchen or bath cabinets.
If you get 10 of these answers from me it is because I tired 10 different times to answer you and it seems that none are showing up!!
