My citronella plant- Do I prune it back?

I've bought my citronella plant into the garage for the winter. Now I've never tried this before. How often do I water and fertilize over the winter? Do I prune it back? What about Sun. I do have a window I could set it in.

  • Set in the sun and water when needed. Do not fertilize again till spring when it gets repotted and placed back outside.

It depends on how cold your garage is. Where we live the garage is so cold in the winter that I cover my big pots with heavy fabric, even by the window. I also put a thin layer of mulch. I didn't prune mine but had to cut yellow leaves.

The plant will never survive in the garage if temperatures are below 55 or 60 degrees,do not feed or prune until next season.

Yes, Edye. Don’t be surprised if it loses leaves. But that won’t hurt anything, as long as you get it back outside as early in Spring as you can, without exposing it to a freeze. Best wishes 😇

Best of luck, you prob dont need to prune, but be careful of the frost
