  • It could be Chlorosis and needs more iron.

It's probably change of temperature or what I found on Google:

The effects of soil pH level on plants will cause it to not be able to absorb minerals like iron, nitrogen, magnesium, or zinc. Mineral deficiency is one of the major causes of chlorosis in plants and in gardenias the most common deficiencies are magnesium (Mg) and iron (Fe), which result in similar leaf yellowing.

Bringing in a plant and caring for it is different than the care it gets outside. It may need more frequent watering due to the dry heat in the house. If your plant was in the sun, it may not be getting enough light. Get a daylight fixture you can hang above it and it will simulate the light it got outside. Try to time it to get as much time under the light as it got outside.

It is normal for plants to have yellowing leaves from the transition from outside to inside. As a precaution did you re-pot it in fresh soil and spray with horticultural oil?

No, sounds like your over-watering it.
