I did that in a basement. Used binds with curtain s tied back on both sides and put a shelf under that looked like a window sill..cute in bedroom...lots of compliments.
if its outside, put closed shutters, if inside build a wall book shelf or curio

A woman I knew had two windows about a kingsize bed width apart on one wall. She hung white or cream colored curtains across the entire wall with a beautiful green set of drapes pulled back with tie backs on either side. Fooled me and looked soooooo elegant, plus she could peek out the actual windows if need be.
