How to update an unremovable 1962 green glass door panel?

The house I am purchasing has a side window panel next to the front entry door. The glass panel is about 12x 60in. It has that "vintage" 1962 green-yellow, swirly circle pattern. It is not removable. I would need to have a new custom window made and installed. Replacement is not at the top of our update list, but I am looking for a quick "cover-up" until the project can happen (1-2 yrs). I feel the window films I have seen will look weird placed over that pattern and color? I'm ok with no light coming through for the sake of making it look more modern. Looking for out of the box ideas. Thanks! Tracy

Just a weird idea floated thru my brain: perhaps a light weight board cut to fit and secured with 1/4 molding. You could paint board and molding to match your house and then stencil or attach house numbers. Or you could attach a.hook to decorate per season.

Great ideas!!! Especially the hook and decorate! SO easy to cover that way both inside and out! Thank you!

You could try contact paper. What about a curtain? Would need a pix to come up with other ideas

Thought about contact paper too.....not sure if it would be too see-thru? I don't have a picture yet, will Sunday. I'll add one if I need more ideas. Thanks.
