Let the pros do it. You do not want to deal with the possibility of exposure and problems with your health down the line. It is not fun, my father died from mesothelioma thirty years after working at a company that had products with asbestos. I have heard of people putting new siding over it, but deal with a pro, not your health problems down the road.
