Every year the cover on my above ground pool melts- help!

Every year the cover on my above ground pool seems to melt and then it rip but only in one area . I have to buy a new cover every year fot the past four years

Is it melting where it is touching metal? Perhaps you could insulate it with an old blanket or towels.
