I have recently seen the barn door hardware on HOUZZ for under $60 (plus shipping) and we found ours on Ebay for under $100 including shipping...
The rail and rollers usually come as a set and in several different finishes, black, oil rubbed bronze, brushed stainless, chrome, etc... black seems to be basic and the others usually cost more. Standard length is usually 6 feet but longer rails are available for more $$.(we used 2 of the 6 ft sets for a 5 ft double barn door (the rail needs to be long enough that the doors slides completely open on each side), to save money.

Just as a note... we have a manufactured (mobile) home.. we found that the structure and framing above our doorways was not for the adequate for the barn door hardware. Once my husband added additional framing (which entailed removing some of the drywall and augmenting the framing, and replacing the drywall)... we were good to go. And we now have several sliding barn doors and are planning to convert several more of our doorways to sliding barn doors.

We bought and old door from Habitat from Humanity ReStore for $15 and bought the hardware online for about $150.
