Try putting good old-fashioned white vinegar on the spots. Let it set for at least one hour. Then scrub with an old toothbrush. This is what I used on the calcium deposits on my bathroom faucet. Worked well for me.
I really need to know—is the water tinted in your drinking glasses? Are you sure you aren’t seeing the reflection of red, pink, or blue decorations, lights or flowers? Unless you have weird chemicals in the water (and your almost duplicate post implies you don’t), it is a mystery to me. I can’t wait to hear what you discover.
(I once cleaned my bathroom mirror over and over and could not get these smudges off the glass. A couple of days later, I realized the smudges were on my husband’s mirror, across the room from mine.) 😇
Probably from chemicals your water supplier adds to the water, chlorine being one of them or possibly flouride.
