Use Wet and Forget a safe mold remover for all surfaces
i find with any home ,regular pressure washing helps. There is a product professional pressure washers use to cut down on the mildew growth.
We hired a professional to do it. It took care of the mildew, but if you have a tall ladder and a pressure washer you can probably do it.
Hi there, I was told Dawn & Clorox. Also was told Home Depot sells something to spray on before powerwaashing to get it off! Good luck as we will be needing it also!
copper helps I heard - is flashing the right term ?
Have had great luck with "Wet and Forget". It does not have an immediate effect. It works slowly and washes mold off with the weather. It lasts so the mold does not return for quite a while.
There are companies that will actually wash houses and roof’s. I laughed at first!! But it’s a great business idea.... I live out in country Michigan surrounded by 800 or more pine tree’s and my house is 5,000 square feet and I couldn’t believe that there was a company that actually washes your house and roof.they got all the years of mold that accumulated on our roof and mold on our vinyl siding. then after if you want they will spray mold killer on the areas as maintenance (if certain Company offers) to keep it looking clean for years to come and my husband loves them and not climbing on roof to clean mold again and haul washing stuff up and down.look on internet for around your area to see if available.
FIRST ..... you have to find where the moisture or water leak ii coming from. Looking at that window area, seems that your window has a drainage problem. Sitting or still water caused by poor drainage or sealing causes the mold...... Fix the leak, then clean, but don't use bleach or Clorox.
We live in central florida (the home of mold & mildew) .After trying many products we found that clorox and spic and span works the best with the power washer . No scrubbing needed. we do this once or twice a year depending on the rain and humidity.
I had a flood from a very small broken pipe under my home that created 10 inches of standing water under my home we had just finished. I had an contracter who had been in restoration for over 50 years. He used 20 Mule Team Borax with plain white distilled Vinegar and water. He mixed a half box with 1/2 cup vinegar and the rest water in a five gallon bucket. Then proceeded to scrub with a very stiff bristled large brush. He did this for or five times rinsing after it sat overnight. he did this on all my 75 year old wood floors and my reclaimed wood trimmed windows outside. He told me to power wash no less than every two years and then seal / paint if needed. Hope this works for you as well as it did for me! God Bless & Happy Holidays !
White vinegar and water Will kill the mold or mildew. If there is an issue with a leak or heavy condensation for whatever reason, it might grow back. You might need to investigate further.
Spray and Forget is another great product. I believe you can find it in Home Depot's roofing section.
Mold spores float in the air. The house will have to be cleaned yearly.
