How do you take a cutting from a hosta plant to plant it and get a new hosta ??
I bought 12 make plants from a nursery. I planted them 6 inches deep in a 4 x 4 raised bed. I just set them out on enriched turned over soil and covered with about six inches of mixed light soil (my native soil is clay) topsoil, compost, vermiculite, potting soil, miracle grow garden soil. I mulched with one to two inches of undied Cyprus shredded mulch. Our plants were older so may want to plant a little less than six inches deep.
Today we get more asparagus than we can eat. Be sure to mulch well before winter, after you cut down the green get My tops.
