can you post some photos? Brick is a porous material and not normally used in a shower.

I would have a professional put in tiles or flat rock over it. If this is too costly, some people have started bartering for work. For example a family needed a tutor to pass their GED test to get a job and the family built a shed in exchange for the tutoring. Bartering has become more an more popular. Find a professional installer and get some ideas from them or see the catalogs at your local home improvement store. Good luck on the bath. When you get it done, but sure to post a photo! I would go with beautiful ceramic tiles. There are so many available today of all sizes and colors and textures.

Cool! I have never seen a brick walled shower!

If the reality of brick is less appealing than the novelty, you could tear it out and put in whatever you like!

We just ripped out our bathroom and put in three large slabs of engineered quartz, tub to ceiling because the reality of the tile we had was frustrating and invited mold. It meant bathing out of a bucket for awhile though.

If you don’t have the time to rip it all out, Perhaps you could try painting it or using the shower liner panels that glue up.

    😊

It would be helpful to see the room size and dimensions that you have to work with. If you posted a picture of the wall and room, more Hometalkers would be able to answer your question with answers specific to your situation.
