Professionally painted kitchen cabinets - chip chip chip

Why? Wrong product? I want more cabinets painted - is there a process or paint that won't chip? Am I destined to touch up cabinets forever?

If they weren't stripped first then your new paint needs to be compatible with the old.

Start by cleaning the cabinets with Murphy's oil soap. Dry completely, follow the directions on the bottle. You need to paint the doors, laying flat. This is the reason your getting chips. You'll need to start with a primer. Don't get it mixed in with the paint that you'll buy. Try new hardware for the cabinets, it's pricey, but it makes the job look professional. You can also spray paint the hardware a color that gives contrast. Example, white cabinets with black hardware, or red. Use high gloss paint, that cleans up nice with a wet sponge. I recommend Glidden.

    Sounds great! No sanding?
