Now. Mulch well but don't smother the bark. I planted my crape myrtles for their bark and thinned them as they grew, not stubbing them off as many do. Mine are now 40 feet tall and beautiful! Happy planting.
I planted mine in the Spring 6 years ago. They are huge now! Make sure that you water every single day until they are established.
