Crepe Myrtles should be pruned after flower has stopped

AACK!!!! DON'T TOP THEM!!! In late winter, when Crepe Myrtles are dormant, you should prune everything that isn't as big around as a pencil. Everything else should be pruned only if necessary to maintain the tree's natural shape. If you insist on "topping" any kind of tree, call a utility company -- they have ruining trees down to an art . . .
