That would be with scaffolding, sounds like a job for a pro unless your used to working high up or are a climber.

Only put the molding on the two lower walls and add uplighting behind it. That way the crown molding doesn't have to be added to or made to fit the angle of the ceiling and the lights will draw the eye upwards.

Personally, I’d never do it! Vaulted ceilings are more contemporary in design and really don’t suit the more traditional look of crown molding. I just moved from a home with a vaulted ceiling in the living room. It was an open plan design so that meant, I avoided installing crown molding in the adjoining rooms ... the kitchen and the dining room. However, we installed crown molding in the bedrooms and ensuite and guest bathroom. A decorator came to our home during an Open House, when it was listed, and commented on how “great it was that we didn’t mess us the lovely vaulted ceilings with crown molding”. (Unquote!).
