How to Effectively Remove a Bottle Label
You can soak them in the sink with a mixture of baking soda, vinegar and dish soap, here is a walkthrough:

To remove paper (or coated paper) labels from glass jars, I start by soaking them in warm/hot water, usually with a little dish soap. Some labels just peel right off, and you can wipe away the adhesive. More resistant labels get to soak overnight and then another hot water soak before I work on them again. Usually I'm able to peel or rub the label off after the long soak, but sometimes there is still adhesive residue. A *nylon* scrubber is a great aid in removing the residue. Be sure your scrubber won't scratch your glass. This method works for most labels. There is one brand of spaghetti sauce that uses a very tough adhesive that doesn't seem to yield to anything I've tried. I gave up on those and went with another option (better than wasting too much of my time).
Spray the labels with WD-40. Let it soak for 10 min. Should peel off easily
I found the best way is to get a large pot fill the bottle with water fill the pot up with water hot soapy dish soap and let them soak for 24 hours, at least. when it's ready to come off it'll slide right off don't force It because you won't get it and you'll be left with sticky residue. But if you do have sticky residue you can take acetone and cleaned up the residue off with like a toothbrush or rag not a paper towel though. You can also use some kind of straight edge like a paint scraper or a razor blade to scrape it off. I have even had luck with a silicone spatula but it's just easier to soak them and get the label off all-in-one so you don't have to do any of that.
Try Goo Gone for tough adhesive
