I have 2" tongue an grooved pine boards that have been varnished

This wood is tongue & grooved garnished 2" wide what can I do with it to give it some life in my kitchen. Everthing is brown.

    You could paint it with chalk paint, which will cover the varnish without a need to sand. You could do a white wash with chalk paint, which will make the paint go longer and give you more of a vintage look with some of the wood showing through. You white wash by adding some water to the paint to water it down and then paint.

      A white wash would probably work using chalk paint. But you are right, any other kind of paint would require dry brushing.

    Nice defined lines... what about an "ombre" stripe effect.. same color... going from light to dark or versa visa.

      I would put the darkest on the bottom, otherwise it will make ceiling appear lower.
