Someone has an incontinence problem in my house, how to rid urine odo

There are lots of pet products that neutralize the smell of urine. Also google that as there are homemade recipes too.

The best thing I have ever found is 20 Mule Team borax and water solution. Neutralizes odors and takes out stains. It is wonderful even for male cat urine!

As a caregiver, a few tips.... add 1/2 cup 20 Mule Team Laundry Borax to laundry. And add bleach to the whites in addition to the borax.

Get a waterproof large mattress pad or mattress cover. Then Depends are good too. Tip, get online to Depends and sign up for coupons. Then check the store ads before you go shopping.... you will save a lot.

Hello Aletha - first, be sure the individual is wearing a diaper or Depends (if an adult). If the odor has penetrated a couch or mattress, you can try to shampoo the couch but if it penetrated too deeply, you may have to replace the couch along with replacing the mattress. Going forward, keep a rubber pad under the fitted sheet to ensure the any leaks go no further than the fitted sheet. Also, place a rubberized pad anywhere the individual sits in the house — Whether it is on a padded dining room chair, the couch, or even in the car. Had to do this for my Mom and it worked pretty well!
