remove fabric carefully, so you have pattern to use to cut out your new fabric, I have done hand sewing or staples if there is something to staple fabric too, also on arms and front have used decorative upholstery tacks.
Fit newspaper on the chair and cut it to fit. This will become your pattern. Mark your newspaper pieces as you go. After that, it's a matter of cutting the new fabric leaving 2 inches on all sides. That will give enough space for seams. Keep doing "dry runs" as you sew to ensure everything will fit. I hope this helps you.
