Starting Spring Seeds Indoors

You don't need any fancy equipment to start your spring flowers and veggies indoors. I've learned from some blogger friends that all you need is a covered plastic container -- and you can even make your own pots! This year, I used Dixie Cups, but you can make your own from rolled up newspapers. I soaked my seeds before planting them less than a week ago, a few of my seeds have already started to sprout!
I got advice some of my favorite bloggers are how to start spring seeds indoors.
The seed pots can be made from rolled newspapers.

Even just a simple plastic storage container can serve as a mini greenhouse. Once I have planted my morning glories and peas, I am going to start some sunflowers!

You can use toilet paper rolls. Cut in half, fold around one side to close it a little, unfold when you're ready to plant and bury the "pot" with it.

@Xie True tp cores are awesome BUT they do come unraveled when wet. So a few extra steps need to be taken, like, keeping them snug in a container while seeds are growing, etc. I've been using tp cores for a few years now and they really do help with composting too!

love this newspaper idea, used it a few years ago, but had forgotten about it. its great as you can plant the whole pot in the ground and the newspaper disintergrates quite quickly once in the soil. if you roll them in the same way you would for an icing/piping bag theres no need to use tape, just remember to leave enough of an open tip at bottom for drainage when transplanting to outdoors,
