The best jewelry cleaner, especially for diamonds, is one part ammonia to six parts warm water and a drop or two of dawn. Let soak for 5-10 min and scrub with a soft tooth brush, rinse. Use a glass jar and plastic lid if you’d like to store and use again for future use.
Not sure I’ve never tried it
For the jewelry I sell on Ebay. I use white (not gel) toothpaste and a damp toothbrush. A dab of toothpaste on the brush and gently brush. Rinse and dry. Safe for gems.
Not safe for the porous gems, like turquoises, all colors, opals, pearls, etc. They can be cleaned but never should be soaked or very wetted, like rinsing under a running tap..
