I Just went thru that! Garden & big box hardware stores sell a liquid product that works! Just pour it on and around the mound and they are gone! I can't remember the name tho. None of the above suggestions worked for us. We even tried blow torching the mounds and as soon as we stopped the torch they came running out!

Spread corn meal around. They eat it and can't digest it so they die. Slow on a colony but it does wipe them out.
Pour a pot of boiling water on the mound.
