Depending on the style, I like the idea of using it to hold towels that are rolled; or laying jars or glasses in the slots and using the jars for storing craft supplies ( glue, pencils, markers, etc.)

My mom had a wood one in the shape of a wine bottle, she used hers for magazines that she wanted to keep in her craft room. She also wound hang ribbon and things like that from it while she was working on something so they were near by when she got to that part. She thought about using it in the bathroom downstairs for towels, but didn't think it was appropriate there (old fashioned I guess, she is 97 now).
