Hello! Pour equal parts of blue Dawn dishwashing liquid and white vinegar into a spray bottle. Spray on the sticky residue and let it penetrate for several minutes. Scrub off with the rough side of a sponge. Repeat if necessary.
Or you could try using a heat gun or hairdryer to dry the glue, then scrape off. If it's still tacky, go with Janet Panos' suggestion.
Try baking soda on a slightly damp rag or sponge.
Mix fabric softener with warm water and sponge on or spray. Let sit snout 15 min. Then scrape off with putty knife.
I have had good luck using either spray cooking oil and a plastic round scrubby, or use a hot hair dryer and then the plastic scrubby......buy a bag of them and the cooking spray at the Dollar Tree.
Second would be use hot wet cloth, then your scrubby, and a cloth dampened with acetone-based nail polish remover.
There is a product called "liquid sandpaper". Be careful, bad fumes.
