What's the best flower/plant to grow in Texas?

Cut them as far down as you can ,spray the roots with Brush Be Gone.You can only use this if there is no other plants around
dig out as much of the root system as you can, and then mulch the area with several layers of cardboard, to keep it from sprouting.
if it is a native (worth checking) consider moving it.
if it is an invader (the Japanese ones are truly invasive, being used to much harder conditions) then burning the debris is really the only way to make sure it will not root from a bare cutting.
We hooked a chain to them and used our pickup to pull them out. I don't like chemicals.
Round-Up. This product now comes in a dispenser that looks like underarm deodorant. There is no danger of it floating in the air and killing other plants. I will warn you that you will need to be vigilant as no one method will get rid of honeysuckle. Take your Round-Up dispenser with you anytime you're in your yard.
