Moxie on Mar 24, 2014you may want to consider finding a used queen size water bed with drawer base and then put your regular mattress in instead of waterbed mattress...we like our and it gave us drawers -- sometimes you can find them pretty cheap.Helpful Reply

Diane Arnold on Mar 24, 2014Have you thought of a hanging bed? Theses can be easily made and can be hung by rope or chains. Just make sure it is mounted into the beams. You can have the height you want and have seen them made to raise and lower.Helpful Reply

Arlene Fitzpatrick on Mar 30, 2014As a starving student made a bed (queen) from two standard doors = use hinges and make a box to fit -- then store your off season linens (or whatever) in the "box."Helpful Reply

Corrine Flavel on Mar 20, 2016We elevated our queen bed due to back issues. We cut a piece of plywood in half , so it was then 2'X8', and we had two pieces. Did it with another piece of plywood. We bought a 8' landscaping tie - cut it in 2' lengths. There will be about a 1' space in the middle of the bed - we took a small piece of plywood and just laid it across where your back rested. Super quick project. Low cost. I have used it for twenty years and now it is off to my son's. Plus, lifting the bed 2' gave us a tonne of storage room. Hope this was helpful.Helpful Reply
