This site will get you started. I can attest to a pressure washer with walnut shells or sand to loosen, or remove completely the paint.

you may have to sandblast it. Check with a rental center to see if you can rent a machine to do that.
There are companies that are mobile that do "soda" blasting... with (baking) soda rather than sand.. and some do glass bead blasting instead of sand..
If you are not confident about trying it yourself... look for someone with a mobile set up to do it for you.
