Any solutions to removing the stale smoke smell from previous home owners? I've washed the walls, removed the carpet, sanded the wood floors, etc. My eyes are still burning!

I am a smoker and every few days in the colder months I turn on the fan to my furnace w/o heat and spray Smoke way spray and it distributes it throughout the house. Worth a try.

You will need to find or rent an ozone generator unit to get rid of the smoke smell. Be careful and read the instructions you don't run these while you are in the house and should have a timer on them. You will need to ventilate the house after each treatment, may take multiple times.

I agree with Areeves. We used one of these for a second hand car we bought-smoke. A smokey wedding dress we got on Craigs list and when a skunk sprayed under the house. When a box of milk rolled under the driver seat from the back seat and spoiled. And many other stinky issues over the last 35 years. We have an Alpine air purifier that generates ozone. You could adjust the ozone to high when needed. We would always leave the house when treating for a stinky issue.

I used to manage a 55 unit apartment complex, and to get the stench out of units with heavy smokers, the guys would put up to 3 coats of Kilz primer on the walls before painting and don't forget to do the ceiling. So I would suggest painting, you could get a low VOC paint to lessen your allergy.

They now use Room Shocker... https://www.biocidesystems.com/home-cleanup-bundle-2?gclid=cj0kcqia3dtqbrdnarisagksflnokx700jvav4bk0n7x65q7luhycdtbcgj3lzqla-ovl-qrsuwhcqeaavwaealw_wcb

If your allergic to cigarette smoke, I would personally recommend a negative ion generator like Ionic Breeze to lessen your symptoms.

Contact a carpet cleaning company to rent an ozone machine. They are miraculous! Nursing homes use them and they no longer stink like in the 'olden times'.

You might also consider having your forced air system professionally cleaned.

Definitely get an ozone generator! They are amazing and you will use it more than once. Best $100 we've ever spent!

Easy easy - get a Hot Shot Fogger - air neutralizer. Follow the directions. The smoke smell has permeated the walls and wood. It is also in small cracks you can't reach by washing. The fogger will be able to get into everything you can't. I've used it and it works.

It is possibly in your furnace system. When I bought this house I had to clean the ducts, they were packed with smokey lint. I used a wet or dry vacuum cleaner as far as I could reach
