Use a metal paint guide, it looks like a wide putty knife and can be found in your big box stores in the paint department.
use a plumbline (weight on a piece of string.) Hold it at ceiling height and it will always hang straight no matter what the wall is. Or Spirit Level - Or Laser Level..........
Use painters tape ...
JUst what I was going to say. Tape but take it off as soon as the paint dries. Don't leave it on too long. It'll be harder to remove.
Use a straight edge as a guide for the painters' tape.
