What is a good dust control solution for a back yard with dogs?

My dogs dig everything. They have ground the dirt and rocks outside to talcum powder and planting a a lan is not practical, we had a lawn and they dug that up, too.

How old are they? You can retrain them but it will take discipline and dedication. I have 6 dogs and a lawn. They dig because it is instinct and because they are bored and were never taught not to dig. Do you run them or exercise them daily? That is what they need! Depending on size and breed a good hour at least once a day will use up all that energy. Talk to your vet on their next visit.

Once they stop digging, plant sedum or creeping thyme as a good ground cover, they can take a beating from puppy paws!
Cover the ground with Artificial Grass................
Fill the holes up and dust the top with cayenne pepper and hopefully they won't redig that hole. They may learn that it hurts and eventually stop if you are persistent. My dogs don't dig that much, but they have killed a lot of grass from running around and chasing each other and wrestling with each other. Thinking of using pavers for some of it if we ever get around to having the time and energy to tackle it.
We have covered our yard with decomposed granite which is heavier than dirt and will compact when wet down and tamped or rolled (you can rent them) Artificial turf is another solution to digging (ours dig because of the gophers, which they can hear under the ground)
Sounds like some bored, frustrated dogs..... they need more exercise. When I trained dogs we exercised them on a bike 2x a day, tire them out. Always have water with you and a collapsible bowl in case they begin to get overheated.
Or the dogs might just be bored. Give them something to do. If a dog is occupied that are generally happier and less destructive. Do they have chew toys accessible to them at all times? Do they get taken for walks to release some of their energy?
