Hello Patricia! Here is a guide to help you with pruning your citrus tree:

When it comes to any type of citrus tree pruning, you should always follow the Old Farmer's Method: only prune in the Spring in months that have the letter R in their name. For example, you can prune in April but not in May. May does not contain the letter R. I hope this helps you.
You want to prune just prior to bloom time or just after fruit set.
