Siding dilemma- any suggestions?

I recently put up a new wood railing that connects to my house. the new railing is higher than the old so I have the holes from the screws couple inches below where the railing is attached to the house which has vinyl siding. What little tricks can I do to cover up the old holes and the marks on the the siding? The mark on the siding is about a half inch by an inch and a half in size. Thanks!

Hmmm, I would make sure water can't get in those holes by using a waterproof caulk and using my finger to make sure it lays flush with the siding. Once dry. touch up with paint that matches the siding.

I was going to Caulk it and now that you mentioned it I do have some paint I think to touch it up. Thank you for that.

Also take soda can & cut a peice a little bigger than hole & put under siding with caulking on both sides & when dry paint.

Contact the installer who put on the vinyl siding and ask them what to do. That is what I did and was told to make the hole slightly larger than the bolts going into the wood and fill with silicone to waterproof the hole. If I did this, I would not void the warrenty on the siding.

I agree with using caulk. Make sure it's 100% pure exterior silicone caulk. Also comes in colors.
