We had painted floor to look like stone. We placed a black rubber mat on it. And now remains of that mat stuck on floor. How to remove it and not wreck floor

    Try soaking it in WD-40 or Goo Gone, then gently scrape the rubber up. Repeat if necessary. I hope that helps.

    I would stay away from harsh cleaners that could damage paint. First try placing a towel soaked on warm water with vinegar to see if that will dislodge the pieces of black mat. use a rubber scraper or credit card.

    Moisture is what caused the rubber mat to adhere to the flooring. Try a blow dryer on low heat setting on the spots where it stuck to the floor. Once it's dried up, you can brush away the residue, then wash the floor with a mild detergent (like Dawn) and it should remove the rest without damaging the paint.
